I was implanted on June 18. the first week was a bit difficult because I'm not big on pain meds. However, I feel good now. Wondered whether the discomfort around the ear and implant is normal after 11 days. Don't know if I should be calling my doctor. The pain is not bad but fairly constant. keving Posted June 29, 2014 Report Share Posted June 29, 2014 Hi Christine! I am just a little over two weeks post-op, and still have some tenderness and numbness around my ear. I saw my doctor this past Friday,and he was not concerned about this,and said this is normal. Unless the pain is truly unbearable I would not be concerned.
