Congratulations!  Very exciting!

I wish you the very best.

Which processor did you choose?

Activation day varies a lot!  Just remember it is just our starting point.

I shared my activation day story in this captioned video in case you are interested.

I chose the Rondo 3. I am ready for this hearing journey to start... your journey is so encouraging! Thank you for sharing.

その最初の聴覚学の訪問であなたがどのように感じたか知りたいです...

It wasn't a moving sound, but I was happy that I was stepping into a new world.

I'm using Rondo 2.
Rondo 3 has not yet been approved in Japan. Actually, I want to use Rondo 3.

There are a lot of happy Rondo 2 users on HearPeers.  How long have you had your CI?

Rondo 3 was turned on today... all is looking good... now begins the journey of my brain learning to hear! I have a backpack full of Medel gadgets... going to tackle it in the morning when I am fresh!

HearPeers には多くの幸せな Rondo 2 ユーザーがいます。CIをどのくらいの期間使用していますか?

I had a cochlear implant surgery in April. So, it's been less than a month since the switch sounded.

Went back May 8th to visit audiologists, two week check up from date my Rondo 3 was turned on. Fine tuned and increased the volume. When I follow a script that is read , and block the low hearing in my other ear, the clarity is “tinny” sounding, but I can understand the words. If I do not look at the scrip I miss a lot of content. It’s interesting as new sounds emerge that sound normal to me… birds, running water, refrigerator door and so on. Voices are starting to have better clarity but have quite a way to go!

I have been borrowing books and CD’s that match, from the library… listening and following along in the book have been really helpful. There is much improvement from two weeks ago.

The journey continues… noisy public places are still a struggle!

Thanks for sharing your experience.  I love the idea of keeping a “wow moment” diary.  I’ve had my implant activated for less than a week so I’m hoping for LOTS of wow moments!
