Artone 3 max with Rondo 3

Recommended Posts

Hope everyone is doing well.  A quick update….John will be doing the paperwork for the Rondo 3 next week.  Our question is…. Can you have the telecoil plug in always fixed so that you can use the Artone 3 Max and if it’s always on will there be a buzzing continually?.  The telecoil adapter is very small and if you are insert8ng it and removing it often concerned that it will break or get lost.  The Artone 3 has been the best device so far for the phone and tv. And use it a lot.  John is preferring it to the pen for ease of use.    Thanks for the help.

@John Crozier

Yes I asked Med-El US that question and they said yes the telecoil adapter can always stay connected.

But the water resistance rating is not the same when the telecoil adapter is in place.  Just FYI.

Our audiologists are able to set programs for specific telecoil settings so it is possible to have a no telecoil program to move into when the adapter is attached yet we do not want an active telecoil.  It is also possible to set a 100% telecoil program for when we want streamed audio only.

That being said, I strongly suggest you confirm this with your audiologist before moving forward.

Since John prefers the ease of the Artone (I do too), has he tried using the small Artone mic clipped onto one person as a remote mic? Link to my review of the Artone Mic.

Hi. Mary Beth. Thanks for answering.  We have not purchased an Artone microphone yet. I am sure we will.   We are currently using the pen with sonnet which works well.  The ease of the Artone is great for iPhone and tv. and This is why the telecoil is an issue and would much prefer connecting the telecoil and leaving it on.  We are choosing the Rondo so we have minimal parts to change and manage.  We will ask the Audi about programming a telecoil setting for us.  He now has the Artone connected to his iPhone all day and it works great.   Any other information you can offer we’d really appreciate hearing. Thanks again.

@John Crozier

John can continue to use the Roger Pen with Rondo 3 (telecoil adapter attached) with either the Roger MyLink neckloop receiver or the newer Roger neckloop receiver.

 Valentin, once we got the Rondo 3 we decided not to have the telecoil adapter in all day but just when needed.  We are only using telecoil for church and no longer with Artone 3 max which we used to use for phone and tv because of a ticking sound constantly while in use.  I.m hoping to get the ticking sound issue resolved soon.  We are only using telecoil one hour a week so we wouldn’t know how it drains a battery. We use AudioLink for tv and he is using the phone on hands free which isn’t ideal but until we can get it resolved this works ok.
