HearPeers Heroes Adam Posted May 30, 2015 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted May 30, 2015 I saw this article on Facebook. Has this ever happened to you? http://themighty.com/2015/05/dont-say-these-2-words-to-someone-with-hearing-loss/
HearPeers Heroes Ivana Marinac Posted May 30, 2015 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted May 30, 2015 Definitely. It's so rude when you are cut of the discussion because of this. I know that because lot's of people are trying to talk to me to my unamplified side where I can not understand them. When I asked them to repeat on the other side - nevermind happens... If you don't do that - just smiling does not help either. At some point you have to answer and then the awkward situation happens inevitably. HearPeers Heroes Adam Posted May 30, 2015 Author HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted May 30, 2015 Yep I have been caught doing the smile and nod, then had to reply but had no clue what was said☺️ Luckily I don't have to do that much anymore but I learned my lesson. I'm just honest and ask to repeat.
HearPeers Heroes Ivana Marinac Posted May 30, 2015 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted May 30, 2015 I am doing both, sometime ask to replay sometimes just nod... It depends on what discussion is about.
