This past Father's Day I got some ringing in my ear and 3 hours later my perfect hearing was gone. After going through the routine course of steroids and intra-tympanic steroid injections, I had absolutely no success and was profoundly deaf in my right ear. I decided to receive a CI because I learned I could get the best results with a CI if I made the decision asap. It has only been 3 weeks since my activation and I feel so blessed and so happy with the decision that I made so far. I hear that it can only get better moving forward in terms of hearing speech more clearly and getting the full benefits of my CI. I'm very glad to be part of this forum and to connect with others.
