Andrew42
Activation later this week. I started to think about whether/how to insure my Rondo 3. I asked my howme owner's insurance and was horrifed by the quote, nearl 4.5% of the inital cost. I recognise that insurance differs by country but what is your experience? Do you have specialist insurance? Does Med-El offer a policy? ( I have asked locally but not yet received a response). I have read Mary-Beth's comment regarding Med-El US one time replacement offer but am also aware that practices change by country. I have asked the hospital where I had the implant - nothing there. Any and all thoughts/advice welcome.
HearPeers Heroes Mary Beth Posted November 8, 2021 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted November 8, 2021 @Andrew42 It varies by country as you say. The most accurate information about the loss/damage and warranty information offered by Med-El in your country will be their regional office. In the US, we receive this information in print. Maybe you can get a copy from Med-El ‘s regional office.
HearPeers Heroes Kylie Posted November 9, 2021 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted November 9, 2021 For me in Australia it was worth a bit of extra money to add to my house contents insurance under the category of medical devices. Andrew42
I am being asked to increase our annual household premium by 25% just to list a $12,000 medical appliance. I find that very difficult to understand/accept.
Dianna
My medel paperwork came in the kit. One time replacement. I will be testing this one $300 piece soon will let you know how it works
HearPeers Heroes Mary Beth Posted November 9, 2021 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted November 9, 2021 @Dianna Which $300 piece? One time loss/damage replacement is in addition to warranties that cover component replacement if not working. Different parts are covered for different lengths of time under warranty. The warranty does not remove the one time loss/damage.
Dianna
Disposable battery tray. Im hoping it shows up, so i have not inquired with my rep yet.
HearPeers Heroes Mary Beth Posted November 9, 2021 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted November 9, 2021 @Dianna I hope it shows up too. It would be sad to use up the one time loss coverage so soon and on only a battery pack. If it doesn’t show up, ask your rep if your insurance will cover a new disposable battery pack. Fingers crossed.
Dianna
Yeah, i had packed my carry case with it but when i arrived at my destination. it was missing. If replacing it nullifies the whole replacement thing i will simply pay. Ive been all over my room, so ive been waiting to look at our kitties' favorite "lost toy" area, usually takes awhile for missing dropped things to get there.
