bkittrell
Hello, My daughter just received her First CI in July and have had it turned on for 16 days. My child is 8 years old with a bilateral sensorineural hearing loss in the higher frequencies that was progressing. She is struggling with the new processors and sounds. I can tell it has helped her hearing, I am just encouraging her to hang on and let's keep going with the process. HearPeers Heroes Mary Beth Posted August 6, 2015 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted August 6, 2015 bkittrell, I have open slots for free in a listening program that may help your child. I offered to other MedEl users on Facebook and several have used it. I purchased a one year subscription for a teacher in February and so I have 35 student slots that I can fill. If you tell me your daughters first name, I will give her a slot and she can play with it. It may help. HearPeers Heroes Adam Posted August 6, 2015 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted August 6, 2015 Welcome to hearpeers You are correct. It is going to take patience. That is kind of hard to get across to a child that age. Keep plugging away.
