FT39
Hi, I have a consult booked with an implant surgeon. All I know at this point is there will be no repeat hearing test. I had sudden loss in my left ear about a month ago. The hearing test showed severe/profound loss from the mid frequency up. Can anyone tell me what to expect at the initial meeting? HearPeers Heroes Mary Beth Posted October 19, 2022 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted October 19, 2022 @FT39 That’s very interesting because usually the CI surgeon wants to see us after the long CI qualifying hearing assessment. Maybe this is just to review your history and then you will be scheduled for another hearing test?
FT39
@Mary Beth that's possible. I am new to all of this and have no idea. I really just want some clear direction. It's been a month since my hearing loss and I've got nothing but a hearing test and an MRI.

FT39
I had my appointment with the implant team today. Incredibly, my mid and some high frequency have come back to the point that I do not qualify for an implant. For now, we are going to watch and see.
