Nathan
Hello, I'm a 14-year-old teenager, I have been implanted for more than 1 year, I am passionate about motorcycles and quads and I would like to drive them but the problem is that I hardly hear without my implant and I do not know if there are motorcycle helmets that suit allow me to keep my implant under the helmet without it making my implant whistle. I hope you could help me find a solution to this. Thank you for your response and understanding.
HearPeers Heroes Mary Beth Posted December 10, 2022 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted December 10, 2022 @Nathan I know CI users who ride motorcycles with their implants on. Usually there is not an issue with whistling (feedback) with CIs unless you are using an EAS model that also has a HA component. Which processor do you use? Nathan
Hello @Mary Beth The processor I use is the Samba 2.
HearPeers Heroes Mary Beth Posted December 10, 2022 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted December 10, 2022 @Nathan The one piece processors are more difficulty helmets since they are not as flat as a cochlear implant coil headpiece for a behind the ear processor. The friends I mentioned are using a flatter processor than the Samba 2 with their motorcycle helmets. Nathan
