HearPeers Heroes Jdashiell Posted April 16, 2018 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted April 16, 2018 Very sad news - I wish Huey the best in his future. I also hope a CI will be an answer for him to perform again. Joe. Huey Lewis and The News cancel all 2018 performances. See attached note from Huey. HearPeers Heroes Jewel Posted April 18, 2018 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted April 18, 2018 I read about it. I recall his songs from the 80s. Lots of musicians have hearing loss. I'm sure if he qualifies for CIs the docs would have told him by now. But if he's anything like me it might take him a few years to accept his new reality and accept that CIs are his only choice, if that is the case with him. Mandy Harvey doesn't want CIs cos she thinks she will lose her being able to sing at the right pitch as she does now. I have never heard her. I hope I will when I get my CI. HearPeers Heroes Mary Featherston Posted April 18, 2018 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted April 18, 2018 @Jewel - it is surprisingly difficult to let go of what you already are even when the potential is greater. It's different, and it means letting go in a very big way. At least, that's what I've found. sassychele02

I play bass guitar with a jazz band - I hear the music well with my right CI - I am hoping to hear even better when I get activated on the left - FRIDAY!!! HearPeers Heroes Jdashiell Posted July 20, 2018 Author HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted July 20, 2018 I just attended a Jazz camp in wisconsin a couple of weeks ago. www.tritonejazz.com It was so much fun to learn, play and laugh with the other musicians! The most difficult time I had hearing was in the Big Band room listening to the discussions. I heard all the music fine! I used the Roger Pen as best I could, but some people just plain mumble.
