JohnL
Just started so I have a ton of questions. Here is one my audiologist pulsing answer. Instead of using an EAS BTE processor, can I use the Rondo 2 for high frequency and a hearing aid for low frequency?
HearPeers Heroes Mary Beth Posted January 16, 2019 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted January 16, 2019 @JohnL This depends on the amount of residual hearing you have post CI surgery. In theory, yes you can and there was a study by Rene Gifford at Vanderbilt published about exactly that. I believe she reported that most users chose not to keep using the in the ear HA for low frequency. (Even though the HA was free in the study and provided acoustic benefit.) In practice, this is complicated. Many CI audiologists do not adjust HAs even of their bimodal (one HA and one CI) users. You would need to find an audiologist who is willing to do this.
