HearPeers Heroes Mary Beth Posted September 7, 2020 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted September 7, 2020 @Alie Ryken Welcome to HearPeers and congratulations on your CI. Which processor do you use? Can you describe the feedback sound?
Watersail
Do you use EAS? CI with the hearing aid mold with acoustic sound? Without EAS, I don't think CI processors could get feedback. But then again, I am learning every day

HearPeers Heroes Mary Beth Posted September 7, 2020 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted September 7, 2020 @Alie Ryken I have never heard of feedback with cochlear implants. Are you sure your Rondo2 is on the M setting (through your FineTuner)?
HearPeers Heroes Mary Beth Posted September 7, 2020 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted September 7, 2020 @Alie Ryken Do you experience the same sounds when your Rondo2 is not on and you touch your ear or turn your head?

HearPeers Heroes Mary Beth Posted September 8, 2020 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted September 8, 2020 @Alie Ryken That I have actually heard about quite a bit! It’s not feedback. Some people notice these sounds when they touch or gently rub their ear. Others when they chew. Others when they wash their hair or turn their head. For many people it’s temporary or at least becomes quieter over time. I’m not sure what this experience is actually called. I would discuss it with your CI surgeon and audiologist just to be safe. But know you are not crazy or alone in this experience.

I have another question on the fine tuner of Rondo 2 what exactly does the sensitivity key do ,one increases and the other decreases? HearPeers Heroes Mary Beth Posted September 17, 2020 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted September 17, 2020 @Alie Ryken O think of the sensitivity setting like a sound bubble which determines how far away from me to pick up sound. Decreasing sensitivity makes the bubble smaller and increasing sensitivity makes the bubble bigger. notesguy
