Hi

Just had my surgery on May 26th, and my implant was activated on July 8th.  What a month this has been with learning, experimenting, and getting much more social again.  I have auto immune inner ear disease, and the meds just stopped working last August.  Downhill from there until the CI was the best, and probably only, sensible option.  What a relief.  I am thrilled.  I have so many questions and still a way to go to using everything.  Glad to be here too.

Welcome WenD!  Feel free to ask any questions you have.  We will do our best to answer them.  My right ear was activated in March 2015 and my left ear was activated in November 2015.  I have Sonnets and Rondos.  I love my CIs too.

Hello WenD - also wishing you a welcome here.

What kind of autoimmune disease do you have that affected your hearing? How long lasted your struggle of loosing your hearing?

OMG! I had an autoimmune inner ear disease too! My meds only worked for a week and it went bad from there. I was told a CI was the only option as well. I had the worst sounds/tinnitus in my head before I got activated too. I'm happy to answer whatever questions you might have! I have been activated now for about a month and a half.
