How does it work?  Do you have to plug in to recharge like an electric car??

@Mary Beth the more I think about it the more I think that if I were designing this I'd make it something wireless that you could put on the nightstand.

My mind always comes back to the fact that all rechargeable batteries eventually need to be replaced.  Does this mean repeated surgical procedures?

@Mary Beth yes, I remember reading about a completely implantable hearing aid a few years back, and in fact you had to have a surgical procedure to replace the battery.
