Problem with my Rondo 2

Lillian Meeds

Recommended Posts

I am hearing the same ticking noise with my Rondo 2 when in the "MT" or "T" mode as other comments I have read.  Med el has replaced my processor and the magnet but it didn't solve the problem.

I would be interested to know if other people are having the same problem and more importantly, have you been able to solve the situation.

Thank You,

Lillian

@Lillian Meeds

Yes!  There is a fix!

@Joan had her Rondo 2 fixed

I think right now the fix is for our audiologists to turn off the Rondo 2’s built in DL-coil extras like auto off and blinking light when off our head.

@MED-EL Moderator I am sure you can explain this better!

@Marie-jose

Congratulations on your CI implant!  You were activated 3 months ago and use Rondo 2?  So much changes in those early months.

Practicing aural rehab helped me a lot!  Are you in touch with Med-El representatives where you live?  They may be able to offer some guidance.

I will tag @MED-EL Moderator in case you need contact information.

I hope you stay here and tell us about your journey.

Wishing you the best!

@Marie-jose

I started out only hearing static and beeps.  Aural rehab helped me so much.  You can check out our REHAB section for ideas.  I hope things improve for you soon.

@Lillian Meeds @Mary Beth

thanks for your questions!

Our products experts are aware of this issue that sometimes happens with RONDO 2. If you experience the ticking noise, they recommend you get in touch with your audiologist. They should be able to fix it by adjusting some of the settings of the audio processor.

Best regards, Verena

  • 2 years later...

Hello I've had a Rondo 2 device for six months, and I still can't understand anything at all

I can't understand speech or music

All I hear is a mess in my head

Can anyone help me solve this problem?

I wish I could hear since I lost my hearing 16 years ago

Thank you

@Taboosh salameh

Welcome to HearPeers.

Where are you located?  Have you reached out to the Med-El team in your area?

When my processor was activated I only heard static and beeps.  I started training my brain by working on aural rehab activities every day.  You can check out our rehab topic for lots of tips and links.

I also had a lot of appointments with my CI audiologist the first year.

I live in Palestine Ramallah and of course I went to the specialists

But they keep telling me I have to train my mind to understand the sounds

And I went to the specialist, I think 20 times in six months

Unfortunately, there's no good result

Chaos and very disturbing sounds. That's all I hear.
