I have a question

since rondo 2 is been send to the clinic

how do they know what color covers we want

@Carolmarie

Someone mentioned that in the US, it is a basic set of mic covers for Rondo 2.

Are you registered with the US online Med-El shop?  The Rondo 2 covers should show up there when people are allowed to order them.

On getting the rondo 2 you get a basic set  with 3 different colored greys and 2 blacks.

Hm, I was just putting the tethers on my Rondo2s, as I'm wearing them today (and already knocked one off my head putting my security badge lanyard on) and have learned that THICK Norwegian sweaters and the tether clip aren't toleranced correctly.

But I clipped it on my shirt under the sweater and it's fine.

In the car this morning, the Rondo2 seemed clearer than my Sonnet was yesterday (singular because I use my car time to listen to music with the new CI as rehab).  I don't know if that's due to normal rehab progress or to the Rondo2, though.

Well, I think it's going to be shirt collars, the clips are small and this sweater's collar is really thick, it's solid wool plus a fleece lining around the neck.  The Norwegians really know their way around a sweater.  🙂

And you may notice sound differences between Sonnets in omni and Rondo 2 which also uses omni due to Sonnets using ASM2 and Rondos using ASM1.

I’m looking forward to reading your experience with Rondo 2 on its first day at work.

So far (two meetings in) I actually feel as though I'm getting better comprehension.  Not sure why that would be true, though.

@Mary Featherston

If you are using the same MAP you had in your Sonnets, maybe the improvement in your Rondo 2s is related to....

different mic

ASM 1 versus ASM 2

the slight difference in dynamic range between Rondo 2 versus Sonnet

or

maybe something is impacting sound quality on your Sonnets (like mic covers)

Interesting feedback.  Keep it coming!

@Mary Featherston

Rondo 2

input dynamic range of 78 dB

28 dB - 106 dB SPL

Sonnet

input dynamic range of 75 dB

Hm, my second Sonnet isn't three months old yet.  The other is, and it's about four months into the second mic cover, but I haven't noticed any deterioration of sound.  I'm thinking now the dynamic range you discussed in the other post might affect this.

In my Rondo 2 kit, it arrived with a mic cover attached plus a 4 pac of colors mic covers. 1 of the four was a match  to to one attached. its hard for me to distinguish some of the colors, but basically , black, a shade of black, and 2 shades of grey
