Tracey_66
@Mary Beth It will be!! really looking forward to it. Except done with masks and gloves, not good for lip reading though.... They have asked to get a Spanish/English friend to come as well to help. Not easy .......Given the current situation. Malaga should be in Phase 2 with less restrictions by next Monday. However, that is not going to help on Friday as we will still be in Phase 1 with restrictions.... Sooo going to be interesting.   Quote Link to comment https://forum.hearpeers.com/topic/5454-activation-ta-da/#findComment-34567 Share on other sites

Tracey_66
Well where do I start!!! We got there 20 minutes early . All masked and gloved. I have only 12 electrodes and 3 programmes. As soon as all switched on, I think robots came to town and seriously having a party!! Interestingly as the day went on and after a charging up the Rondo2 it was evolving but still robotic. By early evening vocal sounds especially my mum had improved although it was fluctuating between robotic and trying to sound sort of feminine if you see what I mean. I was not expecting anything on day 1. Expected to get something within the month yes. So was really surprised. Picked up a robotic indicator sound in the car on the way back home. Actually got to noticed music on tv later in the evening!! Although very distorted and distant. So day 2. What's next!!!!!      Jewel 1 Quote Link to comment https://forum.hearpeers.com/topic/5454-activation-ta-da/#findComment-34607 Share on other sites
HearPeers Heroes Mary Beth Posted May 30, 2020 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted May 30, 2020 @Tracey_66 Yes Med-El electrode arrays work off of 12 electrodes that are MAPped by our audiologists. Â WOW! Â You are off to a terrific start! Every day will bring new WOW moments! Enjoy your journey and keep us posted! HearPeers Heroes Jewel Posted May 30, 2020 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted May 30, 2020 Congrats @Tracey_66 You're off to a good start. I found that immersing myself in sound helped a lot. Even reading aloud to yourself works wonders. That's the first thing my audi recommended after activation. Please keep us posted on your hearing journey. Mary Beth 1 Quote Link to comment https://forum.hearpeers.com/topic/5454-activation-ta-da/#findComment-34610 Share on other sites
Tracey_66
Thank you. @Jewel @Mary Beth I've not got problems with it. I'm getting a vocal robotic warning sign not associated with the battery. I've charged it up over night. So don't think it's that . I'm seeing the specialist again on Tuesday. But I'm trying to work it out . It is becoming persistent. so will look up On the Rondo 2 here, to see if it can shed some light on the matter. Quote Link to comment https://forum.hearpeers.com/topic/5454-activation-ta-da/#findComment-34614 Share on other sites
Tracey_66
I know it's only three days but and yes practice. I get static noise with Hoover etc but I've been having robotic conversation sort of. So puzzled and it's constant. On Friday when there was too much of it to process there was a lag. So I'm wondering if it's something maybe the specialist can fix on her computer? HearPeers Heroes Mary Beth Posted May 31, 2020 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted May 31, 2020 @Tracey_66 Make sure your Rondo 2 is on M setting. Â Not MT. Â You do this with your remote. HearPeers Heroes Jewel Posted June 1, 2020 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted June 1, 2020 @Tracey_66 Which program are you on now? Do you hear the static sound on all of the programs the audi gave you? Mary Beth 1 Quote Link to comment https://forum.hearpeers.com/topic/5454-activation-ta-da/#findComment-34622 Share on other sites
Tracey_66
@Jewel @Mary Beth so sorry for not replying earlier. Just started my rehabilitation. It is intense . Two times a week at the moment and in  another language!!! @Mary Beth I've tried the mute button and it toned it down a little bit but that's it. The remote only beeps on a few of the buttons the programme ones. The sensitivity and volume buttons for example no sound at all. I know the ones on the bottom of the remote does not apply to me as I don't have two processors to deal with. @Jewel I have 3 settings.I'm not sure which one she has started me on . I went through all three and all sounded the same!   It seems to be around when there is an overload In noise a bit like feedback on a Hearing aid. When more than one person talking, also when the television is on. It maybe something that the brain is having to get to grips with at the moment, sound wise. Next week the specialist will be pushing the volume up and I think the electrolode levels up as well. So will see if any changes. She does know about it as I had mentioned it to her last week. As it is early days, I think she wants to leave it for another week, just to make sure.        Quote Link to comment https://forum.hearpeers.com/topic/5454-activation-ta-da/#findComment-34676 Share on other sites
Tracey_66
Still getting a message type of burble. A bit like when at the train station " mind the gap"! But it's referring to something. Very muffled. No rhyme or reason why . E.g. Static interference. My gut feeling is, it may be something to do with the programme on her laptop...will see next week. HearPeers Heroes Mary Beth Posted June 5, 2020 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted June 5, 2020 @Tracey_66 The early days are always very interesting. Looking forward to chatting with you on Sunday. The FineTuner buttons M:  uses your processor’s microphones only and is what we spend most of our time in  T: uses your processor’s telecoil only and turns off the processor mics.  We use this only when using a loop (Artone 3 MAX BT neckloop or a looped theater, etc)  MT: is a 50/50 mix of the processor mics and the telecoil  Our audiologists select which remote buttons we have access to.  Ask at your next appt. Quote Link to comment https://forum.hearpeers.com/topic/5454-activation-ta-da/#findComment-34680 Share on other sites
Tommy C
@Mary Beth. @Tracey_66 If IÂ am not mistaken, my audiologists did not activate the MT and T buttons until my third mapping, when she set my Roger Select. Tracey_66
@Mary Beth @Tommy C. Ah, had no idea that the audiologist would do that. Something to think about for next week. Looking forward to Sunday too!!   Jewel and Mary Beth 2 Quote Link to comment https://forum.hearpeers.com/topic/5454-activation-ta-da/#findComment-34686 Share on other sites
