Hi everyone.  And, thanks Mary!  I am relatively new to the Sonnets, so still learning.  I am currently on the OMNI setting.   Didn’t know until today that there was a wind block option. 😮.

Hi @Mary Beth and everyone!

i had wind block on almost all my digital hearing aids (first pair were analog back in 1990s).

Now with Sonnets I have wind block too.

i have always found in all devices I’ve worn that the wind block feature is worthless- for me.

i wonder how every one else feels about it?

Joe

So, with WB OFF, what happens when you are in a windy situation??

@Jdashiell

The windblock feature being on mild or strong did not solve the wind noise problem.

So turning the feature off did not change much.  But it guarantees that the Sonnet will not dampen sounds it “thinks” are wind.  I prefer access to all sounds-especially for music.

@Mary BethRondo 2 and I are best buddies a great invention.I use it when I am watching TV can hear better. When I use the Sonnets with Roger I couldn’t hear my wife. ,Also hear car radio better with Rondo 2.

For me the only place Rondo 2 is nonfunctional is noisy environment such as restaurants social halls or place with poor acoustics.

Went to musical and the theater has great acoustics and Rondo 2 was great in fact I brought the other Sonnet to compare and Rondo 2 was better for me

@Mary Beth

This is the first time I'm hearing about wind block settings! Where do I find that?

@Jewel

Our audiologists choose the wind block setting on our Sonnets.  I believe only one kind of wind block setting can be on the Sonnet at one time so we can not store a program with mild wind block in one slot and strong wind block in another slot but maybe that has changed.

So your Sonnet MAPs, in addition to having a mic setting, also have a wind block setting.  Ask your audiologist to find out which wind block setting you are using.

At different times I tried them all.  Wind block OFF is best for me.
