Thank you for the information.  I'm not familiar with GripWear. I will have to check into it.  I will be ordering new batteries in a month or two so I will be sure I get the power one type.

Thanks again

Hello, this is my first post. I’m Lucien. I have 31 years old and profound hearing loss in both sides. Despite that I’m  oralized, I don’t use any sign language.

I did cochlear implant on left side (Sonnet) and now I will do the same on right side. My otolaryngologist said I can choose between Rondo 2 and Sonnet (Sonnet 2 isn’t available in Brazil yet).

In my own research I concluded that both processors are good and very similar.

Rondo 2 has some characteristics (Sonnet hasn’t):
- Wireless charging (but I travel a lot, so  if I’m in a place with no internet connection this feature is useless, am I right?);
- Long duration battery (great, but the Sonnet batteries are good too and I have three of them);
- Off-the-ear design (irrelevant for me).

Sonnet has some characteristics (Rondo 2 hasn’t):
- Microphone directionality;
- Wind noise reduction.

I’m inclined to choose Sonnet, so I will have two identical processors. Is this a advantage?

Or maybe I should choose Rondo 2 because it's the most recent?

Did I wrote something incorrect in my post? Does anyone have a suggestion?

Very thank you to all. Greetings from Brazil.

@luciencc

Welcome to HearPeers and congratulations on your second cochlear implant.

Rondo 2 uses a USB cable to charge.  It can be plugged into any electrical outlet.  You can also use a power pack to charge it up if you are not near electrical power.

Both processors are great and share many common features.

Some people like to use the same processor on each ear.

Other people are comfortable using Rondo 2 on one side and Sonnet on the other side.

Whichever works best for you.

I love having bilateral cochlear implants.  I hope you love it too!
