It was so wonderful to get to see each of you and talk together. Now that we know how to do it....smile.... we can definitely schedule more HearPeers Virtual Coffee Chats! We were from time zones that spanned 12 hours! So we were early morning, mid morning and evening. The way we set up our first HearPeers Virtual Coffee Chat was through Google Meet. Google Meet is free for all and has live automatic captioning that can be turned on by each user. The captions are labeled by who is speaking. Strange huh! Btw Jamaica's Blue Mountain coffee is rated among the best in the world. I was really impressed with Google Meet and the accuracy of the captions. So have downloaded the Google meet. Seems straightforward. It works on my kindle as well. Will be trying it out a bit more today..... Both on my mobile and kindle I'm unable at the moment to use the layout options it does not seem available for these but only for pc or laptop??? I can get captions at least!! I've still not received my Rondo 2 processor yet because of the pandemic. so still deaf and apparently I'm very loud vocally!!!! So would it be best if I join in when I've got it? I teach a class once or twice a week via Zoom at a university here in Tokyo, so I'm used to video meetings. Soooooo much more convenient (and safer nowadays!) than traveling across town. I haven't used Google Meet yet, but I have a Gmail account, so I'm sure I can sort it out easily enough. There's a 13 hour difference between Tokyo and NYC but I'm used to working all hours so no problem. Looking forward to seeing you all soon. When we make a call or WhatsApp video call to family in Perth, we are six hours behind them here in Spain . So have no idea what it would be to the US!
